Tran Phu Street (this was how it looked last year during the Miss Universe opening ceremony)
This year’s Sea Festival was an opportunity for Khanh Hoa, Nha Trang to introduce the economic, cultural and tourism potential to local and foreign visitors.
The fourth biannual seven-day festival featured over 60 cultural and art festivities, sports and tourism activities, workshops and exhibitions along the beach (can’t find the list, but Nha Trang’s Beach ranks high as one of the most beautiful beaches in the world) and at the popular Ponagar Tower.
The fireworks took place at the Quang Truong/Public court/April 2 Square next to the Hoa Bien/Lotus Tower (this tower was finished last year in time to host the Miss Universe 08 Pageant).

Lotus Tower (lower left) & April 2 Square (the big court next to the tower) on Tran Phu Street. If the picture continued to the left, you would see Vinpearl Land on an island. Vinpearl Land is a 5 star resort/spa/theme park; a MUST visit in Nha Trang. the Cable car system connecting the island to mainland is apparently the World's longest sea-crossing cable car. The World's longest land crossing cable car is also in VietNam but in DaNang.
The festival will also set several new records for Viet Nam, including the largest pot of pho (noodles) for more than 600 people (oy, I bet Ksenia will be happy), the largest traditional musical orchestra, with the participation of 150 musicians, largest flower exhibition with more than 1000 pots of flowers brought in from DaLat, the longest oil painting about the environment, display of the largest pair of black & white oxes, and more!
Miss World 2004 Maria Julia Mantilla, Miss World 2006 Tatana Kuchrova, Miss World 2009 Ksenia Sukhinova, Miss Indonesia 2009 Kerenina Sunny Halim, and Miss Viet Nam 2006 Mai Phuong Thuy will also attend the Festival. Most of them have already made there way here as you can see:

RAAS handed out 100 scholarships to underprivileged students
Tourists visiting the festival can take part in community activities, like the painting of the longest oil painting, about environmental protection, along Tran Phu street, and the Fishing Harvest Festival at April 2 Square on Wednesday.
The international musical performance, Nong Len Ngon Lua Am Nhac/Burning the Fire of Music, attracted six foreign singers and musicians from six countries, such as pop singer Natalia Fateeve from Russia, pop and rock band Nehr from France, the band Speechwriters LLC from the US, pop singer Bugo from Italy, rock band Electro Super Massive from Australia and DJ Sophie Sugar from England.
Local residents and tourists can enjoy the performance at the April 2 Square on Tran Phu Street on Thursday or watch it live on VTV3.

I love Nha Trang, but I think Vinpearl Land is overrated with too many Viet Kieus and tourists. The best place to stay is Six Senses Hideaway in Ninh Van Bay. Other than that, Van Phong Bay/ Whale Island Resort is good as well.

Even though I’m from Nha Trang, I definitely don’t think Vin Pearl’s overrated. It’s supposed to be “overrated” because it geared towards tourists.
I wonder how fast they’ll finish the pot of pho. lol.

Vinpearl was pretty fun when I went. I guess I mean its a must visit in Nha Trang, as in the theme park was awesome since half of my family actually threw up. Oh and the cable car, the view was BEAUTIFUL!
