World-famous actor and martial arts expert Jackie Chan will arrive in Hanoi on November 4 to attend the 20th anniversary celebration of Operation Smile, a global non-governmental charity organization.
Actor Jackie Chan will visit Vietnam in November as an ambassador for the children’s charity group, Operation Smile.
The 55-year-old Hong Kong-born actor is a goodwill ambassador for the association and therefore will spend three days visiting children ahead of their operations and will also attend a press conference.
Teaming up with Jackie Chan is Operation Smile’s VN Ambassador Ly Nha Ky.
Ly Nha Ky was born in 1982 in Vung Tau and moved to Germany when she was 16 years old. After returning to Vietnam in 2006, she started her acting career with her first lead role in the HCMC TV’s series Kieu nu va dai gia/Beloved women and rich men.
Besides appearing in some local films, she will also appear in the Hollywood film “Shanghai,” set to be released in 2010, and has her own media company and a real estate business.
Running in Vietnam since 1989, the U.S based organization has carried out surgery on 13,000 Vietnamese children who suffered from facial deformities.
