At exactly 8:30 PM tomorrow (today in VietNam), about 21 provinces and cities throughout VietNam including HCMC will face a 1 hour long blackout.

But I’m no prophet.

Earth Hour, organized by  WWF with nearly 5 million supporters and a global network in over 100 countries, is one of the world’s largest and most respected independent conservation organizations. Their mission is to stop the degradation of the Earth’s natural environment and build a future where people live in harmony with nature.

On Saturday March 27th at 8:30 PM, millions of people, thousands of cities, and globally famous monuments… will all switch off their lights for 1 hour in a symbolic show of support for our one and only planet.

In support of this campaign, teen idols Bang Di & Chi Thien shared, “I will turn off the electricity at home and go light candles at the regional ceremony held in the city’s largest Opera House.”

Chi Thien, who was also officially assigned ambassador of the VietNamese “Green Journey”, will tour ten universities in HCMC to help raise awareness about energy conservation and global warming.
