Vietnam’s own version of the UK-originated TV series, Dancing with the Stars, in which celebrities and professional dancers are paired up and pitted against each other in dancing competitions, has officially hit local airwaves this month.
The Vietnamese version, called Buoc nhay hoan vu (Universal Steps), is a part of the international Dancing with the Stars franchise. In this first season, singers Siu Black, Doan Trang, and Quang Vinh, actress Ngo Thanh Van, actors Luong Manh Hai and Minh Beo, and models Vu Hoang Diep and Tien Doan are each paired with professional dancers from the US and Bulgaria to perform Ballroom and Latin dance.

And the results are as follows:
The show will air eight episodes from April 11 to June 20, after each of which viewers will be asked to vote for their favorite celebrity.
The votes count for 50 percent of the score while the judges’ opinions make up the rest.
The following night, the couple with the lowest score is eliminated. The winner of the show receives a shiny disco ball trophy and VND150 million (US$7,872). Renowned sport dancers Khanh Thi and Chi Anh, and film directors Le Hoang and Nguyen Quang Dung, are the show’s judges.
