Newly crowned Miss Teen 09 has been an excellent student for 11 consecutive years

Described as having a “gentle and pure beauty”, Xuan Mai impressed judges with her performance in the talent show and answers in the interview round at the event held at the Military Zone 7 sport house in HCM City on October 4.

When asked what changes entering Miss Teen 2009 had brought to her life Mai said that it had helped her get over shyness and made her grow up too.

She then charmed judges by dancing in the talent show.

Also recognized as an outstanding pupil, she has been named an excellent student (VN goes by a 10 pt. scale & 10 – 9 pts = excellent) for 11 consecutive years, and had been tipped for success since the early stages of Miss Teen 2009.

However she claimed to be at a loss as to what to do with the 100 million dong prize money saying: “I’ve never received such a huge amount of money and I don’t know how to use it”.

Later, though she said she would like to help typhoon Ketsana victims in the central region before giving the remaining money to her parents.

Mai now plans to devote herself to studying to pass the university entrance exams next year. (VietNamNet)
