Ha Long Bay has finally entered the third phase of the world’s seven new natural wonders campaign voting, according to the New Open World (NOW) website on July 10.
In the voting launched by NOW at http://www.New7wonders.com, a total of 260 national and international sites were divided into seven groups from A to G; Ha Long Bay falls under Group G for sea landscapes and beaches. The voting is divided into three phases and as of July 8, midday GMT, the Top 77 shortlist was announced.
Twenty-eight finalists will be announced by the organizers on July 21 at the NOW headquarters in Zurich, Switzerland but the Seven new natural wonders won’t be announced until 2011.
