The My Tam Foundation which was officially founded in April, will use International Children’s Day ( June 1) to host a concert called “Nang Buoc Ngay Mai/Helping Tomorrow” at the Saigon’s Music Hall to raise money for children and hand out scholarships for poor students.  The list of performers includes Evis Phương, Lam Trường, Phương Thanh, Mỹ Tâm, Kasim Hoàng Vũ, Hà Anh Tuấn, Lương Bích Hữu, etc …

On her website, My Tam said:

“Our country still has regions that are very poor.  At these places, people have to work hard to put food on the table, so funding the education for their children is still very difficult.  My Tam Foundation and My Tam Entertainment, with the support of many sponsors, have organized many events to help children who are poor, disabled, or are orphans to aid them emotionally and physically.”

I think My Tam is one of the first singer who is using her fame to give back to the community in meaningful ways.  It seems that she is really devoting her time and energy to build her foundation, using it to promote awareness to the many poor children in the countryside who still lacks proper education. If only everyone else would just take a hint.

Phuong Vy is showing off her glamorous side with some beautiful gowns.  The gowns here are just simply devine.

Apparently, this is the first time that Phuong Thanh celebrated her correct birthday. (more…)

When an angry mother threatened to sue an apparel company for using cleavage-baring pictures of her daughter in advertisements last year, the blogosphere was immediately rife with accusations that she had done it to make her daughter famous.

Whether or not that was the ploy behind raising a scene around the 15- year-old’s low-cut shirt, one thing is true in modern Vietnam: if there are sexy pictures of you on the internet, you’ll be famous.

The rising tide of what young Vietnamese and media outlets call “hot girls” and “hot boys,” is more visible every day. (more…)

So what makes this “Ngoi Nha Hanh Phuc” update any better from the last? Wellllll, this time, we actually have the filming set caught on video! (more…)
